Board & Train Program

In this program, your dog will learn all the foundations of being a polite and respectful dog that is enjoyable to live with. There will be a brief consultation at drop off and you will be invited for a midway session to see your dog’s progress. Additionally, there will be a 2+ hour long go-home session to transfer all of the knowledge, skills, and techniques to set you and your dog up for continued success. You will also have access to follow up lessons and  lifetime support.

During the program, your dog will learn:

• heel/loose leash walking
• sit/stay
• down/stay
• place
• reliable recall (come) with off leash freedom 
• respect at thresholds (waiting at doors before coming through)
• waiting politely for meals
• kennel up
• outings (including car manners)
• basic grooming & handling including brushing and nail trims (if requested)
• overall state of mind work in various settings

Behavioral issues such as counter surfing, jumping on guests, minor leash reactivity, nervousness or anxiety, and excessive barking can also be addressed during this program.

All of these skills are taught with a heavy emphasis on your dog’s state of mind. A calm and thoughtful dog is a happy dog who is enjoyable to live with.

This program is intended to build a great foundation for you and your dog. Remember that the journey is just beginning when your dog comes home after the program! Training your dog is a lifestyle, so it will be important that all family members are on board with training. 

You’ll also be required to follow along on our Instagram page (@Spark_K9) to watch your dog’s journey with us. It will be up to you to implement the suggestions, practice the skills your dog learns, and maintain consistency through the rest of your dog’s life. This is not the program for you if you are looking for a *quick fix*. 

*Please note: this program is not for dogs experiencing severe behavioral issues such as human or dog aggression, separation anxiety, significant resource guarding, severe/intense reactivity, or intense fearfulness of strangers.

Tools included: one top of the line ecollar from E-Collar Technologies with appropriate contact points and collar strap, one Herm Sprenger prong collar, and one place cot. Please note that training tools may vary based upon the needs of the dog. A physical copy of the Spark-K9 Graduate Guide is also included.

Spend a half day with Sammi doing an extra deep dive into everything your dog has learned during their training stay. This add-on will also include a guided outing to a local pet friendly location. The Extended Go-Home session will be customized for each dog and owner team to fit your specific goals!
